To mark NCAA Championships season, Swimming World is offering an exclusive free sneak peek of this subscriber-only content.

Will the University of Virginia capture a fifth consecutive women’s title? Who will emerge triumphant in the men’s meet, which is expected to be one of the most hotly contested competitions in recent memory. Cal has an arsenal capable of boosting the Golden Bears to the top of the standings, while Texas is also expected to be in the mix, the Longhorns stalking a 16th championship.

The NCAA Preview also examines the leading contenders to take home crowns at the Division II and Division III levels, and includes several features on some of the biggest names in the sport at the college level. How does Cal’s Jack Alexy prepare for big races? Why did Tennessee’s Mona McSharry, an Irish Olympic medalist, travel the United States in a van during the first semester of the college season? How did a jam-packed 2024 prepare Texas’ Luke Hobson to become one of the world’s elite middle-distance freestylers?

But there is much more to the NCAA Preview than what has already been mentioned, content that goes beyond the college scene. We take the time machine back to 2001, when Michael Phelps set the first world record of his spectacular career. We honor the 2024 Athletes of the Year in water polo, diving, artistic swimming and open water swimming. We examine topics that feature nutrition, age-group training and coach-parent relationships.
